Welcome to the Artsopolis Network FAQ Page for the Display Management tab. The Display Management tab is used for customizing your site's homepage with spotlight and featured events or artist as well as customizing individual category pages and making general edits to individual events. If your question is not answered here, please visit our Support Desk.

Q: What is the difference between featuring an event and spotlighting an event?

Answer: On each category page there is one top Spotlight event and then typically seven Featured events (if there are enough events to fill those positions). On the home page, there are 5 Spotlight events in the rotating box and then four featured event columns each set to display four events (again, if there are enough events in your database to fill those positions).

Q: How are spotlight and featured events added to my homepage and category pages?

Answer: Our system relies on a combination of manual spotlight/feature selections and auto-filling. For example, if you'd like a music event to appear on the home page you would first want to select it to be spotlighted or featured on the Music category page. Then that event becomes "eligible" to appear on the home page. The home page basically represents the "best of the best" in terms of events that have been featured or spotlighted on individual category pages.

However, if for some reason no events were selected to be featured or spotlighted on the category pages then the home page would begin to auto-fill events from each of the primary event categories (i.e. dance & theatre, music, visual arts, musuems & heritage).

Q: I just uploaded a new listing but it's not showing up when I perform a keyword search.

Answer: Any new listings entered take 24 hours to show up due to the search indexing process. Our indexing process is very similar to Google's, who also indexes their search results every 24-48 hours.
