    Ad Banner Requirements

    Banners can be in many file formats, including .gif, .jpg, .swf (Flash), JavaScript, text, and HTML. Ad banners may vary in size depending on their location. The following standard pixel sizes are optimized for the Artsopolis system:

    RIGHT COLUMN:

    • 300 x 100
    • 300 x 125
    • 300 x 150
    • 300 x 250

    LEFT COLUMN SPONSOR BOX (TOP OF CATEGORY AND LOCAL GUIDE PAGES):

    • 600 x 60

     

    Adding An Ad Banner

    What are the steps to adding a banner?

    • Login to OpenAds (Artsopolis staff will provide you with a login and password per client request)
    • Select arrow key to the left of YOUR DOMAIN NAME
    • Click on the "Overview" link to the right of "YOUR DOMAIN NAME - Default" (ID5)
    • Click the "Add new banner" link
    • Select "Local Web Server" from the drop menu. (the page will reload)
    • Browse to the banner graphic on your local computer
    • Enter the destination URL
    • Enter the word "new" in the Target field (this will open a new browser when the banner is selected)
    • In the Alt Text, Keywords and Destination fields enter the name of the banner.
    • Select "Save Changes"
    • Select "Save Changes" again on the "Delivery options" tab (no need to enter any data)
    • On the "Linked Zones"select the appropriate zone check box (only one)
    • Select "Save Changes"

    If the banner is intended for the right column of the website the banner will either go into rotation in an existing zone of your choosing with other banners or you will need to add that zone via your site’s admin control (instructions on this process to follow); if the banner is intended for your discount ticket offer page (only applicable to those using the Artsopolis newsletter publishing system) the banner should display automatically based on pre-programming provided by Artsopolis.

     

    How do I de-activate a banner?

    • Login to OpenAds
    • Select arrow key to the left of YOUR DOMAIN NAME
    • Click on the "Overview" link to the right of "YOUR DOMAIN NAME - Default"
    • Scroll down to the banner that you would like to remove from either your website or your discount ticket offer page
    • Select the "Deactivate" link for the banner you would like to remove
    • You may use this same process to "Reactivate" a banner

     

    Linking Ad Banners to Zones

    Zones are spaces on your website used for displaying ads in the right column. A zone can be a single space on a specific page, or a space on multiple pages (site wide) which shows the same collection of banners.

    How do I add a new banner zone?

    • In the admin control panel select the "CMS" tab
    • Select "Manage Layout" from the left nav
    • On the right column of the opened home page, select the "Section Type" drop menu from the "New Right Column Form" box
    • Select the "Custom Adzone- Provide ID" option from the drop menu
    • Enter the zone ID number in the "Parameters" field
    • Select "Create"
    • Reload the page if the banner does not display right away.
